The base salary figures look modest on their own, but uncapped 5% commission on all self-acquired revenue changes the picture entirely.

This is pure new business - no account management, no inherited book. You'll research and build your own lead lists, run outbound outreach by phone and email (often speaking directly to owner-managers), and develop prospects through to their first order before handing them over to the German team and moving on to the next opportunity.

Our client expects prospecting and outreach to run in parallel from day one. This is explicitly not a role where you spend weeks building the perfect list before making contact, speed to real customer conversations matters from the start.

Key responsibilities

- Build Lead Lists: Research and build your own lists of premium furniture retailers, interior and design stores, high-end decor shops, galleries, concept stores, interior designers, and suitable online shops
- Outbound Outreach: Run outreach by phone and email, including cold calls, often speaking directly to owner-managers
- Decision-Maker Identification: Identify the right decision-makers within each business
- Persistent Follow-Up: Follow up consistently and persistently with prospects
- Prospect Development: Develop prospects through to their first order
- Clean Handover: Hand the customer over to the team in Germany once the first order is placed, then move to the next opportunity

Candidate requirements

- Outbound Sales Experience: Demonstrable outbound sales, business development, or lead generation experience
- Phone Confidence: Fluent professional English, confident and willing on the phone with no hesitation about cold calling

Ability to build lead lists and prospect independently
- Follow-Up Discipline: Consistent, persistent follow-up approach
- Self-Motivation: Strong ownership mindset, able to work without daily direction
- Brand Representation: Professional, credible representation of a premium brand

What success looks like: In the first three months, we measure how fast you get to real customer conversations, the quality of leads you find yourself, first contacts, call/email activity, qualified conversations with decision-makers, consistent follow-ups, and pipeline development. From month four, commercial results come into focus: first new customers, first orders, revenue, retailer quality, and foreseeable future revenue. Prospecting and outreach run in parallel from day one—this is not a role where you spend weeks building the perfect list.
