TCS is looking for a Mainframe Developer Sr.

(Candidate must be available to work from Guadalajara, Queretaro, Mexico City or Monterrey office at least 2-3 day per week)

Job Summary
We are looking for a Senior Mainframe Developer with 6+ years of experience responsible for designing, developing, enhancing, and supporting complex mainframe applications. Collaborates with business stakeholders, architects, and cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions, troubleshoot production issues, optimize system performance, and support critical business operations in a z/OS environment. Experience with COBOL, JCL, DB2/IDMS, CICS, VSAM, and end-to-end SDLC is required. Relevant technologies align with enterprise mainframe environments documented internally.

Key Responsibilities

Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.

Design, develop, test, and implement mainframe applications and enhancements.

Create and maintain COBOL programs, JCLs, DB2/IDMS objects, VSAM files, and CICS transactions.

Perform code reviews and ensure adherence to development standards and best practices.

Investigate and resolve production incidents, batch failures, and performance issues.

Support application releases, deployments, and post-implementation validation.

Coordinate with business users, QA teams, and infrastructure teams during project delivery.





Participate in application modernization, automation, and process improvement initiatives.

Prepare technical documentation, impact analysis, and operational procedures.

Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior developers.

Required Skills

Advanced English communication

6+ years of Mainframe Development experience.

Strong knowledge of COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2/IDMS, VSAM, and z/OS.

Experience with batch processing, production support, and troubleshooting.

Knowledge of source control, SDLC, testing, and release management.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments is preferred.
