Seeking a Software Engineer to join a specialized engineering team working on Google’s OSS Exit Gate Adoption project. In this role, the engineer will play a critical part in strengthening the software supply chain security for Google’s first-party open-source releases. Engineer will be responsible for migrating over 3,500 software packages across 200+ internal GitHub repositories into a centralized security compliance release pipeline. This role requires strong hands-on coding skills in Python and Go, extensive experience managing repositories on GitHub, and the ability to collaborate directly with engineering stakeholders to execute phased migrations.
Roles & Responsibilities
Stakeholder Intake & Triage: Communicate directly with engineering teams to identify, catalog, and triage all open-source software packages released by their respective projects using internal ticketing systems.
Code & Configuration Migration:
Write and implement configuration changes and code updates necessary to route projects through the new secure release pipeline.
Phased Milestone Execution: Systematically work through migration phases, starting with smaller pilot environments and scaling up to complex, mission-critical internal libraries.
Repository Management: Maintain, configure, and migrate over 200 internal GitHub repositories at scale while ensuring software integrity.
SLA & Throughput Delivery: Meet performance metrics by actively contributing to an active workload target of 12 to 18 repository migrations per week across the team.
Progress Reporting: Assist in tracking stakeholder engagement, tracking milestone advancement, and documenting the total count of successfully migrated packages.
