Pfizer seeks a Data Science Manager to lead a small team of AI/ML engineers and data scientists in Mexico City. The role combines hands-on technical contribution with leadership, focusing on rapid prototyping and evaluation of high-impact AI/ML problems across the enterprise.
Responsibilities
Partner with business and product leaders to identify high-value AI/ML opportunities and define scope
Build and lead a small team while contributing directly to model development and experimental design
Deliver hands-on contributions to feature engineering, model selection, training, and evaluation
Enforce engineering discipline through GitHub workflows, CI/CD pipelines, and production-ready code standards
Communicate findings and recommendations to technical and non-technical stakeholders,



including senior leadership
Requirements
BA/BS degree plus 5+ years hands-on AI/ML, data science, or applied research experience
Proficiency in Python and modern ML frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow, scikit-learn)
Strong grasp of ML fundamentals, experimental design, and validation strategies
Demonstrated experience with Git/GitHub, code review, CI/CD, Docker, and reproducibility practices
Ability to translate ambiguous business problems into testable analytical approaches
Experience mentoring or leading engineers or data scientists
Fluent in English, written and verbal
