We are seeking a dynamic Automation Engineer to support our client. This role involves designing, executing, and delivering technical support for automation systems in both project and bid proposal environments, including control architecture, PLC/SCADA programming, commissioning, and system troubleshooting. The idóneo candidate will combine strong automation engineering expertise with cross-functional collaboration and customer-facing skills to deliver reliable, safe, and compliant solutions for hygienic process industries.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and execute automation solutions, including system architecture, control philosophies, FDS/DDS specifications, and network configurations.
Program and configure PLCs, HMIs, and SCADA applications (Rockwell, Wonderware), and manage interfaces with MES, ERP, and I/O systems.
Perform design calculations, software simulations, FAT, and CAT to ensure functional alignment with quality, schedule, and budget targets.
Ensure solution compliance with functional safety, risk assessments, design reviews, and applicable local regulations.
Coordinate with Process, Electrical, and Supply Chain teams to align design specifications,
functional requirements, and panel I/O allocations.
Support site execution, commissioning activities, snag resolution, handover, and user/O&M; manual preparation.
Provide pre-sales technical support for customer meetings, site surveys, feasibility studies, and proposal/quotation reviews.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Automation, or related Engineering field.
Proven experience in automation execution within hygienic industries (Food & Beverage, Pharmaceutical).
Hands-on experience with Rockwell (Studio5000 / ControlLogix) and Wonderware InTouch is required.
Knowledge of Siemens systems (TIA Portal, S7, SimaticNET) is preferred; C++, C#, Visual Studio, or SAP experience is a plus.
Understanding of control requirements for common hygienic processes (e.g., CIP, pasteurization) is desirable.
Fluent in English (written and spoken).
Excellent communication, analytical, and cross-functional problem-solving skills.
Availability for periodic travel to customer sites.
