Indirect Materials Sourcing/Buyer.
The Indirect Materials Sourcing/Buyer owns sourcing and purchasing of everything that keeps our Tijuana plants running but doesn't go into the chair: MRO supplies, tooling, packaging consumables, safety equipment, facility services and more.
Responsibilities:
Identify, qualify and onboard indirect suppliers in Tijuana, Baja California and the broader Mexico/U.S. border region.
Run RFQs and competitive bids; evaluate quotes on total cost of ownership, lead time, quality and service.
Convert requisitions to purchase orders in the ERP accurately and on time.
Manage blanket POs, releases and consignment or vendor-managed inventory programs for high-use MRO items.
Track supplier on-time delivery, quality and responsiveness; hold regular performance reviews and make decisions to retain or replace suppliers with supervision and direction from the MX SCM Manager.
Maintain supplier records, contracts,
certificates and insurance documentation.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, Business Administration or a related field.
5+ years of purchasing/sourcing experience, with at least 2 years buying indirect or MRO materials in a manufacturing or maquiladora environment.
Professional fluency in Spanish and English, written and spoken.
Hands-on experience with an ERP system for POs, receiving and supplier records.
Working knowledge of Mexican invoicing and fiscal requirements (CFDI, RFC validation).
Strong Excel skills: pivot tables, lookups and spend analysis.
Proven negotiation skills with documented cost savings.
Ability to legally work in Mexico; ability to cross into the U.S. is a plus.
