About the role
In this position, you will lead the development and evaluation of forming technologies, manufacturing innovations and flexibility concepts that improve competitiveness, optimize tooling investments and enable future product requirements across Metalsa operations.
You will work at the intersection of Product Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Operations, Advanced Manufacturing and external technology partners, helping define how future products can be manufactured more efficiently, flexibly and competitively.
Key Responsibilities
• Identify process constraints,
improvement opportunities and long-term manufacturing capability needs.
• Develop innovative and flexible manufacturing concepts for forming processes.
• Challenge traditional dedicated manufacturing approaches and identify opportunities to manufacture multiple products using common equipment or tooling.
• Identify opportunities for tooling reuse, standardization and reconfigurability to reduce investment.
• Partner with Product Engineering to improve manufacturability, product standardization and design-for-flexibility.
• Develop business cases considering CAPEX, OPEX, labor, tooling investment, capacity and ROI.
• Benchmark and evaluate emerging forming technologies and manufacturing solutions.
• Work with equipment builders, suppliers, universities and technology partners.
• Lead feasibility studies, pilots and proof-of-concept activities.
• Support the validation and implementation of new manufacturing technologies across operations
