You'll work in a fast-moving freight operation that is shifting from manual tracking to exception-based visibility. Here, technology handles routine loads, and people step in on the freight that needs them.You'll lead the Track & Trace team inside Managed Operations and turn documented processes into consistent daily execution. You'll work closely with Visibility Specialists, Carrier Procurement, and the wider operations team to keep customers informed and catch exceptions before they become problems.If you're a people leader who sees automation and AI as tools rather than threats, this role is for you.// ABOUT THE CLIENT## Who you'll work with.EvansEvans Transportation Services is a Waukesha, Wisconsin-based third-party logistics (3PL) provider with over 40 years of experience delivering end-to-end transportation management solutions across North America. As one of the country's first 100 licensed freight brokers, Evans has grown into a sophisticated, technology-driven 3PL offering Full Truckload, L TL, Parcel Optimization, Project Logistics, and cross-border Mexico services.Evans is known for quick response times, carrier invoice auditing, and a highly configurable TMS that gives shippers real transparency across their supply chain. The Managed Operations team relies on its Visibility Manager to keep the team executing consistently, customers informed,
and exceptions handled before they become problems.// WHAT YOU'LL DO## Responsibilities.* Own daily team management, workload allocation, and shift priorities, making sure active loads are worked from the correct TMS boards and past-due freight is handled daily.* Train, certify, and develop Visibility Specialists on Evans standards, systems, customer communication, and escalation, and own the Evans Certified Visibility Specialist standard.* Coach performance using facts, KPIs, quality audits, and real shipment examples.* Own tracking compliance and grow MacroPoint and ELD adoption while cutting unnecessary manual check calls.* Ensure non-tracking, At Risk, Likely Late, and other exception freight gets timely human intervention.* Reinforce TMS discipline so shipment updates, issue codes, notes, and escalation history live in the system of record.* Drive milestone timeliness across pickup, departure, arrival, delivery, and other key shipment events.* Own the Visibility side of POD compliance and aging, pursuing POD retrieval from delivery until usable paperwork is received.* Partner with Carrier Procurement when loads are handed off without the required driver or dispatcher information.* Identify recurring failures by carrier, process, customer, or team member and fix the root cause.* Help evaluate and implement automation, AI, and visibility technology that lets the team manage more freight without sacrificing service.* Start each day knowing what is past due, not tracking, at risk, or missing PODs, and end it knowing what remains open, who owns it, and next steps.// QUALIFICATIONS## What we're looking for.* 3–5+ years of experience in transportation operations, Track & Trace, shipment visibility,
brokerage operations, or related logistics work.* Strong understanding of the full truckload lifecycle: dispatch, pickup, in transit, delivery, exceptions, and POD.* Experience working inside a TMS and managing work from operational queues and boards.* Advanced English, with strong verbal and written communication.* Proven ability to train, coach, document expectations, and hold people accountable.* Comfort managing daily and weekly KPIs, past-due work, quality audits, and workload.* Strong judgment on exception management and escalation.* Ability to build structure without overcomplicating the operation.// NICE TO HAVE## Extra credit.* Prior experience as a team lead, trainer, supervisor, or quality coach.* Hands-on experience with MacroPoint, ELD-based tracking, or similar visibility technology.// WHO YOU ARE## The person who does well here.You lead with accountability: you set a standard and make sure the team meets it every day, not just in a monthly review.
