A Snapshot of Your Day
The role is responsible for thoroughly understanding clients' needs and defining the most appropriate solution to meet their expectations. The position participates in the planning and development of proposals, collaborating with cross-functional teams and with the engineering, procurement, and logistics areas to obtain accurate and up-to-date information. It also contributes to the preparation of technical and commercial proposals, conducts financial analyses and risk assessments, participates in client discussions, and follows up on issued quotations, while driving the continuous improvement of the proposal development process.
How You'll Make an Impact
- Analyze the client's requirements to ensure a clear understanding of the needs to be addressed and determine the most appropriate solution; define the overall plan for proposal preparation, estimate the time required to complete the quotation, and develop a tentative schedule.
- Establish work teams to provide support during the proposal preparation phase when required; collaborate with the engineering, procurement, and logistics departments to develop and obtain accurate and up-to-date information regarding the solution being offered to the client.
- Ensure that all relevant stakeholders remain engaged and informed throughout the proposal development process; coordinate with other department members and support areas to ensure compliance with deadlines and the delivery of quotations as agreed.
- Research and evaluate the costs of materials, equipment, and labor required for the project; request quotations from internal and external suppliers; perform solution pricing calculations,
including the financial feasibility analysis of the proposal.
- Prepare the technical and commercial proposal for the quotation; conduct project risk assessments and define management and mitigation strategies for the execution phase; identify and analyze market needs to support the development of pricing strategies in collaboration with the sales team.
- Lead technical and commercial discussions with the client during the clarification and contract negotiation phases; maintain an updated record of all issued quotations and their status; develop and implement new concepts for the continuous improvement of the proposal preparation process in collaboration with cross-functional teams
What You Bring
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Familiarity with electrical systems and high-voltage equipment, including transformers, circuit breakers, insulators, substations, and protection systems.
- Understanding of electrical engineering principles, including circuits, components, and single-line diagrams; experience reading and interpreting drawings and technical specifications.
- Knowledge of project cost estimation methods and techniques, project management tools such as Microsoft Project, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), Microsoft Teams, Planner, and To Do; basic financial concepts; and strong written and verbal technical communication skills.
- Skills and competencies: project management, planning and organization, team leadership and coordination, ability to manage ambiguity, effective prioritization, timely decision-making, ability to motivate and collaborate with both direct and indirect stakeholders, and strong written communication skills.
- Languages: Advanced English; basic German is desirable.

The Grid Technologies Service department is responsible for providing maintenance services for all Siemens Energy high-voltage equipment, as well as carrying out substation modernization projects to ensure the electrical reliability of our customers' facilities. The primary objective of the Proposal Specialist is to prepare competitive maintenance and modernization proposals that meet customer needs, expectations, and requirements while ensuring the profitability of the department.
