- Responsible for daily accounting processes including invoices, banking, booking & billing reporting, etc.
- Ensure accuracy in daily GL, Fixed Assets, Cost, AR/AP, VAT, etc.
- Ensure timely and accurate finance monthly, quarterly, and yearly reports.
- Monthly: Send monthly closing reports to headquarters.
- Quarterly: Send quarterly closing, booking & billing, and Q1-Q3 reports to headquarters.
- Yearly: Send yearly closing, booking & billing, Q4, and YEE reports to headquarters. Reconcile Intercompany AR/AP with internal companies.
- Monitor and report on key financial metrics, including production costs, labor expenses, material costs, and overheads.
- Develop and maintain financial models to support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis for plant, manufacturing projects and products.
- Ensure timely preparation and submission of tax statements.
- Calculation and book accrual expenses, maquila services, revaluation of USD accounts, bank transactions, taxes, depreciation, amortization, etc.
- Maintain monthly salary calculations and accrue bonuses for payroll.
- Lead the preparation of the annual budget and periodic forecasts for the factory.
- Monitor and manage capital expenditures to ensure they remain within approved budgets.
- Assist the GM in creating monthly and quarterly business review documents. (BRM)
- Manage external & internal of the Factory audits to ensure timely/accurate completion.
- Oversee cost accounting activities, incl. product costing, standard costing, and cost variance analysis.
- Identify opportunities for cost reduction & efficiency improvements with production and operations teams.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
A Master's degree or CPA/CMA qualification is preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in a financial management role within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of cost accounting principles, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
- Proficiency in financial software (e.g., IFS, SAP, Oracle, MS Dynamics) and advanced Excel skills.
- Familiarity with financial reporting tools. IFS and Tagetik is a strong advantage.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Leadership and people management skills, with the ability to work effectively across all levels of the organization.
- Advanced Excel skills and strong knowledge of Business Intelligence (BI) tools.
- Strong knowledge of Mexican accounting, tax, and regulatory requirements, including local GAAP and IFRS.
- Experience with or knowledge of the maquiladora (IMMEX) environment would be a strong advantage.
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies.
- Experience managing a team of finance professionals.
- Fluent in Spanish and English, both verbal and written. Other languages considered an advantage.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills with attention to details, result-oriented, curious, adaptable, communicative and reliable.
