The Aftermarket Electronics Engineer is responsible for supporting electronic products throughout their post-launch lifecycle, including troubleshooting, redesign, validation, obsolescence management, and continuous improvement activities. This role works closely with cross-functional teams to analyze field issues, develop electronic solutions, support product sustainment, and ensure long-term product reliability and serviceability.
Candidates must have a valid passport and US visa for travel.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze customer, service, and business requirements and translate them into electronic design proposals and technical solutions.
- Design, modify, and maintain electronic circuits and schematics using industry-standard CAD tools.
- Support product sustainment activities, including component obsolescence management, redesigns, and cost optimization initiatives.
- Bring up and validate prototype hardware, proof-of-concept designs, and engineering mockups.
- Investigate field failures and perform root cause analysis to identify corrective actions.
- Develop and execute validation and verification test plans and document test results.
- Perform electrical characterization, debugging, and troubleshooting using laboratory equipment.
- Collaborate with Mechanical, Firmware, Software, Manufacturing, Quality, and Service teams to develop and implement robust solutions.
- Support PCB design reviews, layout optimization, and manufacturing readiness activities.
- Ensure compliance with applicable EMC, EMI, ESD, safety, and regulatory requirements.
- Create and maintain technical documentation including schematics, test reports, design specifications, and engineering change documentation.
- Support product lifecycle management activities from design modifications through production implementation.
Technical Skills
- Proficiency with Altium Designer for schematic capture and PCB design.
- Experience with electronic circuit simulation and validation tools.
