Looking for your next challenge? Our team in Puebla (Mexico) is seeking a Commodity Buyer to drive sourcing performance, supplier relationships, and continuous improvement initiatives!

Responsibilities

- Lead commodity strategy definition and structure supplier panel
- Identify and qualify new suppliers to onboard if required to support commodity strategies
- Manage supplier relationships
- Monitor supplier performance and drive corrective action or removal from panel if required
- Oversee purchasing processes and enforce compliance
- Responsible for achieving assigned cost reduction goals and other KPIs
- Lead supplier RFQ and nomination process, negotiate all necessary purchasing contracts
- Effective governance of supplier projects to stay on time and within budget




- Identify innovation capabilities of suppliers and pursue technology advancements to support company strategies
- Negotiate payment terms and milestones to achieve company financial objectives
- Develop a deep technical understanding of major commodities
- Collaborate with global suppliers and company plant locations
- Support acquisition process and drive competitiveness on T&E; investments
- Focus on supplier risk management and risk mitigation plans
- Intervene in major supplier issues escalated by plant team
- All other duties as assigned by the company

Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in business or engineering
- 5+ years of experience in a purchasing role in an industrial environment
- Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
- Knowledge of manufacturing environments and automotive supply chains
- Analytical mindset with experience in cost analysis and sourcing decisions
- Proficient in SAP/ERP systems and Microsoft Office tools
- Resilient, adaptable, and eager to embrace new technologies
- Ability to work effectively in general, cross-functional teams
