We are looking for an HSE Specialist to join us in México City.
The HSE Specialist will be responsible for implementing and maintaining Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) programs within pharmaceutical manufacturing, laboratory, warehouse, and office environments. This role ensures compliance with applicable regulatory and corporate requirements, supports risk management initiatives, drives continuous improvement, and promotes a strong safety culture across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement and maintain HSE policies, procedures, and programs to ensure regulatory and corporate compliance.
- Conduct risk assessments, safety inspections, audits, and incident investigations, ensuring effective corrective and preventive actions.
- Support occupational safety, chemical safety, environmental compliance, hazardous waste management, and emergency preparedness programs.
- Manage chemical inventories, Safety Data Sheets (SDS), and safe handling practices for hazardous materials.
- Coordinate HSE training, safety inductions, and emergency response drills.
- Monitor HSE performance indicators and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with Production, Engineering, Quality, Maintenance, Laboratory, and other departments to integrate HSE requirements into daily operations and projects.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Environmental Sciences, or a related field.
- 3–5 years of HSE/EHS experience, preferably in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, chemical,
medical device, or other regulated manufacturing environments.
- Experience with risk assessments, incident investigations, audits, inspections, and regulatory compliance programs.
- Knowledge of chemical management, hazardous waste handling, occupational safety, and emergency response.
- Experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing and/or laboratory environments is preferred.
Preferred Certifications & Knowledge
- ISO 45001 and ISO 14001.
- OSHA or equivalent local regulations.
- GHS/SDS management.
- Industrial Hygiene and Occupational Exposure Assessment.
- GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices).
- NEBOSH, IOSH, CSP, ASP, or equivalent certifications are a plus.
