About the Role The Software Engineer will contribute to the development of Computer Vision software components for automotive ADAS applications, focusing on the software V-Cycle process, including Software Requirements Analysis, Software Architecture and Design, Software Implementation, and Software Testing.
Responsibilities
- Focus on the development of Computer Vision application components for automotive ADAS systems, including the integration of internally reused standard software components and adaptation and integration of third-party software components.
- Develop and maintain detailed software design, software unit test specifications, and test reports for all verification activities related to assigned software components, in alignment with the software architecture.
- Develop source code in accordance with Valeo coding guidelines and software engineering best practices.
- Perform software unit static code analysis and ensure compliance of developed source code with MISRA rules.
- Develop software unit test specifications, perform unit testing, and generate software unit test reports.
- Commit software artifacts to the Configuration Management database on a regular basis, using tools and processes such as CI, Gerrit, and delta KW and delta UT.
- Update CoreALM tickets and activities daily with current work status.
- Provide regular updates on assigned tasks and deliverables during project meetings.
- Ensure the quality of all assigned deliverables, meeting project KPIs and software code quality metrics.
- Ensure software development activities comply with Software Requirements Specifications and Software Architecture.
- Implement fixes and changes required by problem reports and change requests.
- Perform and participate in peer reviews of software, design, and technical documentation,
including requirements and test specifications.
- Support technical reviews and project audits in the respective role.
- Maintain existing production software by analyzing customer change requests, implementing changes, supporting testing and validation, and contributing to software releases.
- Travel as needed to customer and Valeo internal sites.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Embedded Systems, Robotics, Computer Science, or a closely related field.
- 5+ years of experience in embedded software engineering, preferably in the automotive industry.
- Experience in Computer Vision, image processing, or vision-based automotive applications.
Required Skills
- Strong experience in software development using Embedded C and C++.
- Experience developing or integrating Computer Vision software components for embedded systems.
- Good understanding of image processing concepts and video formats.
- Good understanding of ARM architecture and embedded processing platforms.
- Familiarity with communication protocols and analysis using logic analyzers.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with Enterprise Architect or similar UML tools for software design.
- Experience with debugging tools such as Lauterbach or iSYSTEM.
- Experience with GIT or similar version control tools.
- Understanding of software engineering principles and best practices.
- Ability to work effectively in globally distributed project teams.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with automotive ADAS or camera-based vision systems.
- Familiarity with Computer Vision frameworks and libraries such as OpenCV.
- Experience with image acquisition, image processing pipelines, or camera-based applications.
- Familiarity with Automotive SPICE, CMM, or other software development process models.
- Experience with functional safety or cybersecurity.
