Your Role at Baxter As a Manufacturing Engineer II, you will lead and support the integration of manufacturing processes transferred from other Baxter sites while driving continuous improvement across existing operations. This role combines technical problem-solving, project leadership, and process optimization to improve product quality, manufacturing efficiency, and operational performance. You will serve as a trusted engineering partner to manufacturing, quality, and supply chain teams, helping to ensure processes are scalable, compliant, and capable of meeting business and customer needs. Through your work, you will directly contribute to operational excellence and support Baxter's mission of improving outcomes for patients worldwide.
What You'll Be Doing Lead the transfer and integration of manufacturing processes from other Baxter facilities, ensuring successful implementation, validation, and operational readiness.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives that increase productivity, improve first-pass yield, reduce scrap, and enhance overall manufacturing performance.
Design, develop, and implement manufacturing tools, fixtures, inspection equipment,
and process improvements that support safe and efficient production.
Analyze manufacturing data, identify performance trends, investigate root causes, and implement corrective actions to improve quality and operational results.
Plan and support manufacturing capacity strategies, including equipment, labor, space utilization, and maintenance considerations to meet business demands.
Lead or contribute to process validation activities, including IQ, OQ, PQ, and related verification efforts, ensuring compliance with quality and regulatory requirements.
Collaborate with suppliers, operations, quality, and cross-functional teams to solve complex technical challenges and successfully execute engineering projects.
What You’ll Bring Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
3-5+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering, process development, process transfer, or continuous improvement within a regulated manufacturing environment.
Experience leading validation of end-to-end manufacturing processes.
Experience with IQ/OQ/PQ methodologies is highly desired.
Demonstrated ability to identify manufacturing issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement sustainable corrective actions.
Experience working cross-functionally with operations, quality, suppliers, and technical stakeholders to deliver business results.
Strong project management, organization, and prioritization skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
Effective communication skills with the ability to provide technical guidance, influence stakeholders, and lead project activities.
Preferred Qualifications Experience within the medical device, healthcare, life sciences, or other highly regulated manufacturing industries.
Knowledge of FDA Quality System Regulations (21 CFR Part 820), ISO 13485, CAPA processes, and quality system requirements.
Experience supporting manufacturing transfers, new product introductions, or site expansion projects.
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
Experience developing manufacturing documentation, process instructions, routings, and bills of materials.
Ability to mentor technicians, engineers, or cross-functional team members while fostering a collaborative work environment.
