About the team

The Senior Specialist, Software Engineering, Full Stack designs, builds, and operates end-to-end web applications and services that power Zillow’s customer and internal experiences. This role combines deep front-end and back-end expertise to deliver scalable, resilient solutions, mentor other engineers, and drive technical decisions for moderately complex initiatives within a product or platform area.

About the role

- Architect, develop, and maintain full stack web applications and services, spanning modern front-end frameworks and scalable back-end APIs and data stores. - Lead design and implementation of complex features from concept through deployment, ensuring performance, reliability, security, and maintainability. - Collaborate closely with product, design, data, and adjacent engineering teams to refine requirements, break down work, and deliver high-impact solutions iteratively. - Establish and advocate for engineering best practices in code quality, testing, observability, CI/CD, and incident response, and model these standards in day-to-day work. - Mentor and provide technical guidance to other engineers through code reviews, design discussions, and pairing, helping elevate overall team capability. - Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize production systems, using data and diagnostics to improve system health, user experience, and operational efficiency.

This role has been categorized as a teleworker position. Teleworkers do not have a permanent corporate office workplace and instead work from a physical location of their choice, which must be identified to the Company. Employees may live anywhere in Mexico, with availability to travel to Mexico City, as we recommend attendance at occasional office events.

In addition to a competitive base salary and benefits, this position is also eligible for equity awards based on factors such as experience, performance and location.

Who you are





- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field. - 8+ years of professional software engineering experience, including significant work across both front-end and back-end web application development. - Proven experience designing, building, and operating scalable, reliable services and user-facing features in a modern cloud environment. - Demonstrated experience collaborating in cross-functional, agile teams and influencing technical direction for complex projects. - Or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
