Mechanical BIM Specialist – Remote
At BIMMEX, we are looking for a skilled Mechanical BIM Specialist to join our team and support international construction projects focused on HVAC, Plumbing, Piping, and Sheet Metal systems.
This role involves high-quality BIM modeling and coordination within BIM/VDC environments. We are looking for professionals with a solid mechanical background, strong communication skills, and the ability to work seamlessly with international teams.
Responsibilities
• Model complex HVAC (ductwork, air terminals, equipment), Plumbing (sanitary, domestic water, venting), Piping, and Sheet Metal systems using Revit.
• Develop accurate and constructible system layouts, ensuring proper routing, slopes for gravity systems, pipe/duct sizing, insulation, and maintenance clearances.
• Participate actively in VDC workflows by conducting spatial coordination, running clash detection, and resolving multi-disciplinary interferences.
• Generate and manage intelligent model metadata, ensuring correct parameter population for spooling, fabrication, and material takeoffs.
• Deliver coordinated models that meet project standards, engineering intent, and strict LOD (Level of Development) requirements for construction projects.
Mandatory Requirements
• Advanced English (spoken and written).
• Solid mechanical background.
• Solid experience with Revit.
• Experience in BIM modeling and coordination.
• Experience working in BIM/VDC environments and construction projects.
• Strong communication skills and experience working with international teams.
Nice to Have
• Experience with Navisworks (this is a plus).
• Experience with ACC / BIM 360 or similar common data environments.
• Knowledge of U.S. mechanical and construction standards.
