Job Description

We are looking for a Staff Software Engineer – Telco Architecture & Connectivity to define and drive the technical architecture that will enable the evolution of our telecommunications ecosystem toward Full Mobile Network Operator (MNO) capabilities.

This is a senior individual contributor role for a technical leader who combines deep expertise in Telco architecture with a strong background in software and platform engineering. The idóneo candidate understands telecommunications operations end-to-end and can translate complex Telco capabilities into modern, scalable, resilient, secure, observable, and highly automated technology platforms.

In this role, you will define the target architecture and technical roadmap across the Telco ecosystem, connecting digital customer experiences, CRM/BSS, provisioning, OSS, charging, SIM/eSIM, Mobile Core, IMS, subscriber management, policy control, network services, interconnection, and roaming.

You will establish how these capabilities should be structured, integrated, and operated, including system boundaries, ownership models, systems of record, APIs, events, data flows, integration patterns, and orchestration responsibilities. You will also help determine which strategic capabilities should be developed and owned internally, built in partnership with technology providers, or delivered through external vendors.

As a Staff Software Engineer, you will provide technical leadership across engineering, architecture, product, operations, and external technology partners. You will influence critical architectural decisions, establish technical standards, evaluate vendor solutions,

identify opportunities for capability internalization, and guide the modernization of Telco platforms.

What you’ll do

- Define the target Telco architecture and technical roadmap required to support the organization’s evolution toward Full MNO capabilities.
- Provide architectural direction across CRM/BSS, OSS, provisioning, charging, SIM/eSIM, Mobile Core, IMS, subscriber management, policy control, network services, interconnection, and roaming.
- Translate business and telecommunications capabilities into clear software domains, platform services, system boundaries, APIs, events, integration patterns, and data flows.
- Define ownership models, systems of record, orchestration responsibilities, and integration boundaries across the Telco technology ecosystem.
- Design architectures that connect Telco platforms with digital products, enterprise systems, cloud services, data platforms, and internal engineering platforms.
- Establish modern architecture patterns based on distributed systems, cloud platforms, APIs, event-driven integration, automation, observability, reliability, resiliency, security, and scalability.

- Determine which strategic Telco capabilities should be developed or operated internally and which should be delivered through vendors or technology partners.
- Design software and platform abstractions that reduce dependency on vendor-specific implementations and enable greater flexibility and internal engineering ownership.
- Evaluate vendor architectures and technical solutions to ensure alignment with the target architecture, engineering standards, operational requirements, and long-term technology strategy.
- Identify architectural gaps, integration risks, operational dependencies, scalability constraints, and opportunities to modernize existing Telco capabilities.
- Establish technical principles and standards for the design, integration, deployment, operation, and evolution of Telco platforms.
- Partner with engineering teams to translate architectural direction into actionable technical designs, implementation plans, and engineering priorities.
- Collaborate with product, operations, business, and technology teams to connect customer journeys and business capabilities with the underlying Telco architecture.
- Guide the progressive internalization of critical Telco capabilities while balancing business priorities, technical complexity, operational risk, and vendor dependencies.
- Identify opportunities to apply AI, AIOps, data, and intelligent automation across Telco engineering and operations, including telemetry analysis, anomaly detection, event correlation, diagnosis, optimization, and automated remediation.
- Serve as a senior technical authority and influence engineering teams, technology leaders, product teams, operations, vendors, and partners without direct authority.
