Certifications/Designations

- BI and/or reporting certifications (CBIP or IBM Certified Developer) preferred.
- Certified or working towards AINS designation preferred.

Required Experience

- 7+ years of BI Development or related experience.
- Proven experience as a BI Developer, Report Developer, and/or Data Engineer, including familiarity with BI technologies (e.g. Microsoft Power BI, Oracle BI, IBM Cognos, etc.)
- 4+ years of complex, large project experience.
- Experience working under Agile and Scrum practices.
- Experience within the insurance industry preferred.
- Background in data management/warehousing and business/systems analysis preferred.

Essential Responsibilities

- Provide technical guidance, code reviews, and best practice coaching to other BI developers.
- Lead design and development efforts for complex BI projects, ensuring solutions align with business objectives and technical standards.
- Analyze reporting requests, initiate clarifying discussions, and translate requirements into robust BI solutions.
- Independently design, develop, test, and implement reports,



dashboards, and visualizations that drive business insight.
- Follow the Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) for development, documentation, and deployment
- Recommend improvements to SDLC processes as needed.
- Ensure code, queries, and specifications are optimized, maintainable, and documented.
- Conduct post-implementation reviews to validate solution effectiveness.
- Partner with cross-functional teams, including dependent delivery teams, to ensure alignment and data consistency.
- Provide clear communication on application constraints and recommend solutions that exceed user expectations.
- Maintain and enhance existing BI solutions to ensure accuracy, performance, and relevance.
- Optimize queries and data handling processes for improved efficiency.
- Identify and adopt new tools, features, or methodologies to improve reporting capabilities.
