Reports To: Engineering / Project Management Team
Position ObjectiveSupport the design, drafting, detailing, and coordination of structural engineering projects for U.S.-based clients by developing accurate structural drawings, construction documents, details, and engineering documentation using Revit and AutoCAD.
The engineer will work closely with structural engineers, architects, project managers, contractors, and other disciplines to translate structural design requirements and engineering calculations into clear, coordinated, and constructible drawing sets that comply with applicable U.S. building codes, engineering standards, and project requirements.
Key ResponsibilitiesStructural Drafting, Detailing & Design
- Develop detailed structural drawings and construction documents for commercial, industrial, residential, and related building projects.
- Produce structural plans, sections, elevations, schedules, and construction details using Revit Structure and AutoCAD.
- Translate structural calculations, engineering sketches, markups, and design requirements into accurate structural drawings.
- Develop and update structural models throughout different phases of design and construction documentation.
- Prepare structural details for foundations, concrete, structural steel, framing systems, connections, and other structural components as required by project scope.
- Incorporate engineer and project manager redlines, comments, and design revisions into structural drawing sets.
- Review drawings for accuracy, completeness, coordination, dimensions, annotations, and constructability.
- Maintain consistency between structural models, drawings, details, schedules, and engineering documentation.
- Assist with structural analysis and calculations when required to support drafting and design development.
- Ensure drawings and structural documentation comply with applicable U.S. building codes, engineering standards, and project requirements.
- Identify drawing conflicts, design inconsistencies, missing information, and potential constructability issues.
- Coordinate structural drawings with architectural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and other engineering disciplines.
- Support the development and maintenance of drafting standards, Revit families, templates, details, and drawing libraries.
Project Coordination
- Support structural projects from schematic design and design development through construction documents and construction administration.
- Review RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, technical documentation, and project-related engineering information.
- Update drawings and models based on RFIs, design revisions, field conditions, and coordination requirements.
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, project managers, and other project stakeholders.
- Participate in project coordination and technical meetings with U.S.-based teams.
- Communicate drawing revisions, coordination issues, and technical requirements clearly to internal and external teams.
- Maintain organized drawing sets, models, project documentation, and revision records.
- Manage assigned drafting and engineering deliverables and project deadlines.
- Support QA/QC reviews of structural drawings, models, details, calculations, and technical documentation.
- Assist in resolving drafting, coordination, and technical issues that arise during design and construction.
- Support and mentor junior engineers, designers, or drafters when appropriate.
RequirementsEducationBachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related engineering discipline. Experience
- Minimum 5 years of relevant structural engineering, structural drafting, or structural design experience.
- Strong professional experience developing structural drawings and construction documents.
- Advanced experience using Revit Structure and AutoCAD for structural drafting and detailing.
- Experience producing structural plans, sections, elevations, schedules, and construction details.
- Experience working with building structures and structural systems.
- Experience interpreting structural calculations, engineering sketches, redlines, and design requirements.
- Experience applying U.S. structural design codes and drafting standards strongly preferred.
- Experience designing, drafting, or supporting projects located in the United States strongly preferred.
- Experience preparing and reviewing structural drawings, RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, and technical documentation.
- Experience coordinating structural drawings with architectural and MEP disciplines.
- Experience managing multiple drawing packages, deliverables, revisions, and deadlines preferred.

Technical Skills
- Advanced Revit Structure proficiency.
- Strong AutoCAD proficiency.
- Experience developing structural construction documents and detailed drawing sets.
- Experience with Bluebeam Revu for markups, drawing reviews, and coordination.
- Strong knowledge of the International Building Code (IBC).
- Knowledge of ASCE 7 structural loading requirements.
- Knowledge of applicable U.S. structural engineering codes and standards, including ACI, AISC, and ASTM standards as relevant to project scope.
- Strong understanding of gravity and lateral structural systems.
- Experience with structural analysis and design software.
- Experience with the RISA structural design suite preferred.
- Experience with Revit families, templates, schedules, and structural modeling workflows preferred.
- Familiarity with BIM coordination processes and other structural engineering software is a plus.

Work Mode: RemoteThis is a fully remote position based in Mexico supporting a U.S.-based engineering team.
The role requires regular communication in English and availability during agreed U.S. business hours.
