Summary
The U.S. Mission in Mexico is seeking eligible and qualified applicants for the IRS Investigative Analyst in the IRS Criminal Investigation office.

Duties
The IRS Investigative Analyst operates with broad latitude in planning, organizing, and executing assigned responsibilities, personally conducting complex research, analysis, translations, and reporting on tax and financial crimes, regulations, laws, and economic developments across Mexico and Central America within the IRS-CI Area of Responsibility. Core duties include performing thorough research and analytical reviews in support of criminal investigations; preparing clear, precise, and well-organized reports for internal and external stakeholders; and leveraging fluency in both written and spoken English and Spanish to facilitate effective communication. The analyst manages multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely completion and proper prioritization, while providing ongoing investigative and administrative support to the Attachés, serving as a primary point of contact with officials and representatives of the Government of Mexico, and coordinating meetings including logistics and documentation. Additional responsibilities encompass translating documents and providing interpretation services during meetings between the Attachés and Mexican counterparts, as well as performing administrative functions such as tracking and reporting expenses, maintaining the division's budget, and overseeing inventory and procurement of office supplies, along with other tasks as assigned.

Requirements: All selected candidates must be able to obtain and hold a security certificate. All selected candidates will be subject to a background investigation and may be subject to a pre-employment medical exam.
Selected candidate must be able to begin working within a reasonable period of time (4 weeks) upon receipt of agency authorization and/or clearances/certifications or their candidacy may end.
Education Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Law, Criminal Justice, Business Administration, Political Science or International Affairs or related field is required.

Must have at least five years of progressive experience in legal, investigative, financial, or auditing roles, including business translation.

- Would have ability to conduct simultaneous translations of financial technical terms and possess a thorough knowledge of Mexican Political and Law Enforcement in order to assist Post and AOR.
