Investment & Portfolio Management Intern

Target universities: ITAM & Tecnológico de Monterrey An opportunity to gain hands-on experience in investment analysis, business strategy, and portfolio management while contributing to strategic and operational projects across a growing business.

1. Academic Background

- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- MANDATORY Students from ITAM (Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México) or Tecnológico de Monterrey.
- MANDATORY Expected graduation date: August 2027 or later.

2. Key Responsibilities

- Support the operational and financial monitoring of portfolio companies by tracking key business metrics and performance against business objectives.
- Assist in maintaining and updating financial models for business planning and performance analysis.
- Conduct market research and industry analysis to support the evaluation of potential investment opportunities.
- Screen potential investment opportunities by gathering relevant information and preparing company profiles and summaries.
- Prepare presentations, business summaries, and analytical materials to support strategic discussions and decision-making.
- Collaborate on cross-functional projects involving business operations, commercial performance, logistics, and growth initiatives.
- Analyze operational and commercial data to identify trends, generate insights, and support business improvement recommendations.
- Assist in tracking OKRs and key performance indicators (KPIs) across business areas.
- Support ad hoc strategic initiatives across the Investment and Portfolio Management teams.

3. Requirements & Qualifications

- Strong Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookup functions, and basic financial analysis.
- Solid analytical, logical,



and structured thinking skills, with the ability to solve problems using data and business judgment.
- Basic understanding of financial concepts, including P&L;, cash flow, costs, and financial statements.
- Strong interest in business strategy, startups, investments, or entrepreneurship.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to clearly articulate ideas and recommendations.
- Curious, proactive, eager to learn, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
- Intermediate to advanced English proficiency.

Preferred Candidate Background Priority 1: Startups & Technology. Candidates with previous experience in startups, technology companies, fintech, e-commerce, or high-growth businesses.

Target companies: Kavak, Mercado Libre, Merama, Rappi, Uber, DiDi, Nowports, Nuvocargo, Clip, Konfío, Stori, Plata, Klar, Bitso, Clara.

Priority 2: Consumer Goods & Retail. Candidates with experience in consumer goods, retail, commercial operations, or large-scale business environments.

Target companies: P&G;, Unilever, PepsiCo, Grupo Modelo (AB InBev), FEMSA / OXXO, Walmart.

Priority 3: Automotive & Mobility. Candidates with exposure to the automotive or motorcycle industry, mobility, or related commercial operations.

Target companies: Honda, General Motors, Nissan, Toyota, BMW Group México.
