About the job

This is the role at the center of how our portfolio actually runs. When a maintenance issue pops up, when a cleaning schedule needs to flex, when a vendor needs to be dispatched, when a guest situation needs a judgment call — you're the call. You make decisions in real time, lead the team on shift, own the outcomes, and use AI daily to do it smarter.

HomeHop Property Management is the top-rated short-term rental (Airbnb/VRBO) property manager in Ohio, with properties across Cleveland, Akron, Columbus, Cincinnati, Pittsburgh, and Indianapolis. We're growing fast, and the quality of our real-time operations is a huge part of why.

This is a remote role, working on US Eastern time.

What you'll own

- Run live operations across our portfolio — triage, decisions, coordination, follow-through
- Lead the guest messaging team during your shift — set priorities, answer their questions, and have their back when issues escalate• Triage maintenance issues — troubleshoot remotely when you can, dispatch vendors when you can't
- Coordinate cleaning teams when schedules shift or issues come up• Use AI tools to work smarter — from triaging guest messages to drafting communications to building workflows that scale. We expect you to push the envelope on what AI can do in property ops.
- Make cost-effective decisions in real time — balancing guest experience with company resources
- Document every issue and resolution cleanly so the next shift has a complete picture
- Decide what needs to be escalated and what you should solve on your own

Who you are

- Sharp problem-solver who can assess risk and urgency in seconds
- Confident decision-maker — you don't freeze when something goes sideways, and you don't need three approvals to act
- Strong people skills — you'll be leading a team, coordinating vendors, and supporting guests, and tone matters in every channel
- Tech-fluent and comfortable across the stack — Slack, Asana, PMS software, and AI tools are part of your daily flow
- Self-directed and dependable in a remote environment• Genuinely excited about AI — not just "open to using it," but actively curious about how AI is reshaping how operations work. We use Claude daily and want someone who'll find new ways to use it, automate the boring stuff, and help us stay ahead.

Nice to have (not required)

- Experience managing teams• Engineering background is a plus. You think systematically, debug methodically, and stay calm when things break.• Maintenance, facilities, or hands-on property experience• STR, hospitality, or real estate experience• Vendor management experience

Why you'll want this job

- Real authority and trust — you make the call. No bureaucracy, no waiting on approval.

- A core seat on the operations team — you're not on the sidelines, you're running things, and you've got a team around you
- You'll be on the frontier of AI in property operations — we're not waiting for other companies to figure it out, we're building it. If you want to grow your AI skills in a real production environment, this is the place.
- A clear path to grow as the company scales — we're building toward 400+ properties and beyond, and the people who help us get there will lead the next chapter
- A culture that's always open to constructive feedback — we want to know how things could be better, and we move on good ideas fast
- A young, ambitious, tech-forward team that takes our work seriously and ourselves less so
- Direct access to leadership — you'll work with the founders, not three layers below them The details

- Schedule: Five days on, two days off — Wednesday and Thursday are your off days. Monday and Tuesday are afternoon/evening shifts (approximately 4–10 PM ET), and Friday through Sunday run longer afternoon-through-evening shifts (approximately 1–10/11 PM ET) to cover peak guest activity. About half of your shift typically overlaps with the rest of the operations team, and the guest messaging team is on for your full shift — you're never operating alone. 40–45 hours per week on average.
- Compensation: $2,500–$2,700 USD per month, depending on experience
- Team: You'll work directly with our COO, General Manager, operations coordinators, guest support team, cleaning teams, and vendors
