A Snapshot of Your Day As a Plant Engineer Lead for Plant and Flexibility Assessments, you will serve as the technical lead responsible for evaluating and developing solutions for nuclear, fossil, and combined-cycle power plants. You will coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams, integrate technical solutions across plant systems, and lead engineering studies that support plant optimization, flexibility improvements, and lifetime extension opportunities.
Co-leading projects alongside business, sales, and regional stakeholders, you will be responsible for translating customer challenges into executable engineering solutions while ensuring alignment with customer requirements, project milestones, budgets, and Siemens Energy processes. Strong partnership and collaboration across global engineering teams, service regions, and customers are key to delivering successful outcomes. You will also support business development activities, contribute to R&D; initiatives, and act as a trusted technical advisor throughout the project lifecycle, from opportunity development through solution implementation.
How You’ll Make An Impact
- Technical project lead and direct support of service customer requests on Nuclear Plant Assessment efforts along with Combined Cycle Power Plant and Flexibility assessments
- Coordinate project-specific plant optimization or engineering studies and provide leadership, guidance and direction to the project team when it comes to integration of solutions
- Contribution to Service-relevant Power Plant Lifetime Extension R&D; programs and projects, as well as other activities relevant to the Service organization, including setting milestones and budget targets and ensuring project compliance.
- Support Business Development, Marketing and Sales with technical input on respective technologies and ensure alignment between market and solution development
- Management & Coordination of global Engineering resources as required to support technical integration of plant solutions including structuring complex projects into engineering work packages and executing them with global engineering resources
- Be technical point of contact to all service regions, especially region North and Latin America and support customer interactions and/or site visits for startup witness evaluation and solution implementation.
What You Bring
- University Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Process Engineering or equivalent and extensive experience in the Power Generation Service sector, preferably in Engineering, as well as solid basic knowledge of power plant, processes, large rotating equipment (GT, GN, ST) frames and configurations and power plant working principles, operations and maintenance concepts, preferably with experience on onsite commissioning and tuning on Combined Cycle Power Plants
- Good knowledge of internal processes regarding service implementation, product development (R&D;) and bidding and solid global network within Siemens Energy Gas Services and, possibly other Business Areas
- Project Management skills such as ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines, experience in managing a multi-disciplinary team and intercultural competence.
- Ability to interface directly with customers, field personnel, back-office personnel, and management (strong customer orientation).
- Highly self-motivated individual with a proactive mindset to identify and develop new solutions while fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
- Ability to think outside of the box and strong cross-functional collaboration skills across verticals and dedication to help others become successful.
About the team : The selected candidate will work jointly with Siemens Energy’s Service Engineering, commercial, sales, and regional teams to develop and deliver plant optimization, flexibility, and lifetime-extension solutions for power generation customers.
This role requires close collaboration with multidisciplinary engineering experts and general stakeholders to evaluate customer challenges, integrate technical solutions, and execute engineering studies that improve plant performance, reliability, and operational flexibility.
