About the Role The role leads and oversees all quality activities within the manufacturing facility, ensuring compliance with customer, regulatory, and industry requirements, driving a strong quality culture, and partnering with plant leadership to establish quality strategies, objectives, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee all quality activities within the manufacturing facility, ensuring compliance with customer, regulatory, and industry requirements.
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve the Quality Management System (QMS) to support operational excellence and customer satisfaction.
- Drive a strong quality culture across the organization through leadership, coaching, and employee engagement.
- Partner with plant leadership to establish quality strategies, objectives, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure process stability through effective implementation of control plans, standard work, traceability systems, and error-proofing methodologies.
- Lead internal and external quality audits, ensuring compliance with IATF 16949, ISO standards, customer-specific requirements, and internal procedures.
- Manage customer quality performance, including complaint resolution, corrective actions, and continuous improvement activities.
- Champion problem-solving methodologies, root cause analysis, corrective and preventive actions, and lessons learned initiatives.
- Monitor and report key quality performance indicators, driving actions to achieve Zero Defect manufacturing and delivery objectives.
- Support new product launches and engineering changes, ensuring successful quality planning, validation, testing, and PPAP approvals.
- Lead and develop the Quality team, ensuring appropriate organizational structure, competencies, and succession planning.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Program Management teams to achieve business objectives.
- Manage supplier and incoming quality performance as required to ensure product and process compliance.
- Oversee quality-related escalations and ensure timely containment, investigation, resolution, and communication to stakeholders.
- Promote the use of continuous improvement, Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and digital tools to optimize quality processes and performance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field; advanced degree preferred.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive experience in Quality Management within a manufacturing environment, preferably in the automotive industry.
- Proven leadership experience managing quality teams in high-volume manufacturing operations.
- Strong knowledge of automotive quality standards, including IATF 16949, ISO 9001, Core Tools (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, MSA), and customer-specific requirements.
- Demonstrated experience leading customer quality initiatives, audit readiness, corrective actions, and continuous improvement programs.
- Strong problem-solving skills with expertise in root cause analysis methodologies such as 8D, 5 Why, Fishbone, and other quality tools.
- Experience supporting new product launches, process validations, and change management activities.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and operational excellence methodologies.
- Strong analytical capabilities with the ability to interpret quality metrics and drive data-based decisions.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and influencing skills across all organizational levels.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic, and multicultural manufacturing environment.
- Strong business acumen combined with a hands-on approach to quality and operational challenges.
- Advanced English proficiency, with the ability to communicate effectively in professional and technical settings.
- Results-oriented leader with a strong commitment to customer satisfaction, continuous improvement, and team development.
