We are seeking a Lead Backend Engineer to spearhead backend development efforts for our Internal Developer Platform (IDP) constructed on Backstage. This position centers on delivering scalable services, streamlined developer workflows, and effective platform integrations.ResponsibilitiesDirect the creation of Backstage backend plugins and services that power core platform functionalityTake ownership of backend architecture spanning the catalog, scaffolder, workflows, and APIs, prioritizing scalability and dependabilityEstablish connections with tools including Git, CI/CD systems, Kubernetes, and Argo Workflows to simplify platform functionalityArchitect and roll out developer workflows and automated pipelines aimed at boosting engineering productivityBuild RBAC, authentication, and inter-service security measures to safeguard platform assets and dataGuide the creation and continuous refinement of scalable microservices architectureCoach team members and champion the adoption of strong engineering practices organization-wideRequirementsA minimum of 5 years of applicable experienceAt least one year spent leading and directing development teamsSolid background in Node.js/TypeScript for backend engineeringDirect experience working with Backstage,
