Organizational context
The UNDP PROCAP program, active since 2013, supports Mexico's International Cooperation for Development (CID) efforts, aligning with SDG 17. In its third phase (2019-2025), it aims to strengthen AMEXCID's institutional capacities, enhance its CID policy (both receiving and offering cooperation), and foster strategic alliances. The role operates within AMEXCID's executive structure, focusing on inter-agency coordination and project oversight.
Job purpose
The Assistant for Interinstitutional Liaison and Follow-up plays a crucial role in supporting AMEXCID's institutional consolidation and its mandate to strengthen South-South Cooperation in Mexico. This position contributes to the effective management and implementation of international development cooperation initiatives. The role facilitates communication between AMEXCID units and external entities, ensures systematic follow-up on agreements, and supports the optimization of institutional agendas and high-level meeting logistics. By preparing essential briefing materials and overseeing document management, the assistant directly contributes to informed decision-making and the efficient execution of AMEXCID's strategic objectives aligned with national development priorities and Mexico's foreign policy.
Responsibilities
The Assistant for Interinstitutional Liaison and Follow-up is responsible for facilitating communication between AMEXCID's internal units and external stakeholders, including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (SRE)
and other government dependencies. This involves systematically tracking the fulfillment of agreements and direct instructions. The role also includes participating in the supervision of the document management system, handling correspondence, requests, and classified files. A key duty is preparing work folders and concise briefing notes to support decision-making processes. Additionally, the assistant will support the administration and optimization of the agency's institutional agenda and collaborate in the logistics for high-level meetings, ensuring strict adherence to executive schedules.
Education
A high school diploma (Bachillerato) is required. University-level studies in Administration or a related social science are not mandatory but will be given due consideration.
Work experience
Candidates with a high school diploma require 5 years of experience in public administration (municipal, state, or federal). Those with a completed Bachelor's degree need 2 years of experience in relevant areas such as administrative processes, logistics, or managing work agendas.
Skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Experience in administrative and/or logistical processes. Experience managing work agendas. Desired skills include event organization, meeting coordination (especially in the public sector), handling sensitive information, supporting executive-level officials' agendas, and preparing executive briefings and reports.
