Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Workload Automation Support Engineer to support and optimize large-scale enterprise batch processing environments in financial services, ensuring business-critical workloads execute reliably and within SLA commitments.

This role combines production support, workload automation engineering, batch performance optimization, root cause analysis, and operational automation. The successful candidate will act as a senior technical contributor, driving resolution of complex incidents, mentoring team members, and improving platform reliability through automation and continuous improvement initiatives.

The team s primary platform is HCL Workload Automation (HWA). Candidates with hands-on experience on any enterprise scheduler are the primary target and will ramp up on HWA specifically. Linux/Unix System Administrators with strong batch/production support backgrounds but no scheduler experience are also encouraged to apply — see below.

Skills & Experience

• Scheduling/Workload Automation:



Hands-on experience with an enterprise scheduling platform — HCL Workload Automation (HWA), IBM TWS, Maestro, Control-M, AutoSys, Dollar Universe, CA7, or equivalent — including job definition, job streams, dependencies, resources, and restart/rerun of abended jobs. Alternatively: Linux/Unix System Administrators with strong enterprise batch/production support experience (no scheduler tool required) who are motivated to ramp up into scheduler administration are also welcome to apply.
• Scripting: Unix shell/bash scripting for job wrappers, pre/post commands, and FTP/SFTP file-transfer steps
• Operating Systems: Linux (RHEL) and Unix (AIX); Windows Server for agent-managed jobs; intermediate OS troubleshooting (logs, processes, cron, perf, disk/filesystem, networking)
• Databases: SQL for job-status / plan-table queries against DB2, Oracle, or SQL Server backends
• Monitoring/Alerting: Job-failure detection and notification within SL
