The Junior Cybersecurity Operations Specialist is responsible for monitoring, detecting, investigating, and responding to cybersecurity threats across the organization's IT environment.
This role supports the Security Operations by analyzing security events, managing incidents, maintaining security tools, and helping protect critical systems, networks, and data from cyber threats.POSITION OBJECTIVEThe Junior Cybersecurity Operations Specialist is responsible for monitoring, detecting, investigating, and responding to cybersecurity threats across the organization's IT environment.
This role supports the Security Operations by analyzing security events, managing incidents, maintaining security tools, and helping protect critical systems, networks, and data from cyber threats.Role & ResponsabilitiesSIEM - Monitor networks, systems, and applications for security alerts or anomalies using established tools.IAM - manage basic tickets investigationXDR - Triage and handle basic security issues and support initial incident response tasks.VM Assist in running routine vulnerability scans and verifying system patches.
(CVE)Maintain and update security documentation, configurations, and standard operating procedures.Executes established procedures and operational playbooks.Escalates complex threats, anomalies, or policy violations to senior engineers.Decision-making authority is limited to routine system administration and clearly defined, self-contained tasks.Technical SkillsFundamentals for:OSI Model,EDR tools,basic Windows/Linux administrationIT ticketing workflows.core security concepts.introductory scripting (Python,
