We’re seeking a Geotechnical Engineer to support our Mine Waste Solutions team. This role will work on the engineering, design, and delivery of tailings storage facilities, waste rock dumps, and other mining infrastructure projects from concept through construction.
About The Role
• Conduct detailed engineering analysis, design, and reporting for projects involving tailings storage facilities, waste rock dumps, and other mine infrastructure.
• Prepare high-quality technical reports, proposals, and project documentation to support client needs and project milestones.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams across engineering and design disciplines to ensure the timely and successful delivery of assigned geotechnical project deliverables
• Manage the preparation of design drawings and specifications, from initial scoping studies through to detailed design and construction phases.
• Develop accurate and comprehensive engineering and construction cost estimates to support project budgeting and planning.
• Collaborate effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team,
ensuring timely and successful project execution.
About You
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or a related field.
• 5-10 years’ experience working with an engineering consulting firm or similar environment; construction.
• A Master's degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related field is preferred.
• Proven experience in the design of tailings storage facilities, waste rock dumps, and related mine infrastructure.
• Expertise in dam stability analysis, water management, and civil design principles.
• Proficiency in Autodesk Civil 3D, GeoStudio (or similar software), ArcMap, and advanced modelling tools such as PLAXIS (or similar).
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in both Spanish and English, with the ability to effectively interact with diverse teams and clients.
