About the role
• We're looking for a Business Analyst / Scrum Master to join a small delivery team for a U.S. insurance client. The team builds production software using AI-assisted development, which means engineering effort is no longer the bottleneck. Ambiguity is. Your job is to remove it.
• You'll turn business needs into specifications precise enough to build and test against, and you'll run the delivery rhythm that keeps the team unblocked and the business making decisions every week. You'll stay with the team from discovery through production acceptance. There is no handoff.
• This is NOT an engineering role. You won't be writing the code. You'll be the person who makes sure the team builds the right thing, and you'll help client engineers adapt to directing and reviewing AI-generated work.
What you'll do
• - Run discovery directly with business product owners and the teams whose work will change
• - Learn the business's vocabulary and write requirements the way the business would state them - Convert ambiguous needs into clear problem statements,
and say plainly when something isn't ready to build
• - Write acceptance criteria as testable conditions, not prose open to interpretation
• - Model business rules, data, and process flows (as-is / to-be) for engineers to build from
• - Run sprint planning, reviews, retrospectives, and daily stand-ups
• - Keep the backlog small, traceable, and verifiable - Frame decisions for senior stakeholders, drive them to closure within the week, and escalate when they stall
• - Track and clear impediments, manage dependencies, and report progress to program leadership
• - Make sure audit evidence (authorship, approval, separation of duties) comes out of the delivery process itself, not assembled after the fact
• - Document how the team works so the model is repeatable What we're looking for Must have:
• - Insurance industry experience, ideally Commercial or Specialty P&C.; You should understand how submissions arrive, how und
