Position Summary
This position performs preventive maintenance and repairs on the wastewater collection systems to ensure proper operation.
Essential Functions
- Inspects, repairs, rehabilitates and maintains the wastewater collection system, including locating sanitary sewer and storm drains; repairing wastewater lines; installs flow meters; makes sewer taps; maintains air relief and sewer valves; and lift stations.
- Inspects manholes.
- Maintains and repairs lift stations including electrical equipment, pumps, floats, structures, piping and valves.
- Inputs, updates and maintains information and records using computer programs.




- Operates sewer camera system to visually inspect and document sewer line conditions.
- Locate sewer and storm drains using electronic equipment.
- Inspects, maintains and repairs and wastewater lines.
- Maintains, and repairs sanitary sewer lift station equipment.
- Cleans, televises and repairs sanitary and storm sewers.
- Performs maintenance on storm sewers.
- Adjusts, repairs and replaces manhole rings and covers.
- Transports equipment and materials to and from work sites.
- Collects wastewater samples for sanitary sewer overflows
- Maintains up-to-date records of all maintenance activities.
- Sprays pesticides to control mosquitoes on City property.
- Cleans, lubricates, and performs preventive maintenance or repair on equipment.
- Ensure all activities are carried out in a safe manner; adheres to all safety regulations; ensures all regulations pertaining to the safe use of equipment are understood and followed.
