We are looking for a Senior Backend (GO) Engineer to join the technology team of a leading integral sports and entertainment company, building the digital and streaming products behind some of the world’s most recognized sports content. You’ll work on the systems that power payments, subscriptions, billing, taxes, refunds, and commerce across direct-to-consumer products used at significant scale, including major spikes in traffic during live sporting events. This is a unique opportunity for senior engineers who enjoy solving complex distributed systems problems where reliability, security, scalability, and correctness directly impact the customer experience and real-world transactions.

Key Responsibilities:
• Lead the technical direction of key commerce capabilities, from architecture and design through production.
• Design and build scalable, secure APIs and event-driven systems.
• Work on payment authorization and capture, refunds, disputes, reconciliation, and subscription lifecycle management.
• Build reliable systems that handle retries, out-of-order webhooks, idempotency,



and eventual consistency.
• Make architecture decisions balancing reliability, security, cost, and speed of delivery.
• Take ownership of production systems, including incident response, root-cause analysis, and follow-up improvements.
• Write high-quality production code with meaningful test coverage and automation.
• Mentor other engineers and help raise the engineering standards across the team.
• Evaluate emerging payment and commerce technologies and identify opportunities to improve conversion, reliability, and operational efficiency.
• Work closely with stakeholders across different business areas to build reusable commerce capabilities without compromising their individual customer experiences.
