In this position...
As a Vehicle Power Systems Modeling & Energy Optimization Intern within the Ford Champs Program, you will help advance vehicle electrical efficiency and energy management across our connected and electrified vehicle lineup. In this collaborative systems engineering role, you will analyze feature electrical loads, construct simulation models,



and build digital traceability between functional requirements and physical power consumption, directly helping maximize battery life and elevate the ownership experience for millions of drivers.

Responsibilities
What you'll do...
• Model and calculate electrical power consumption and energy budgets across diverse vehicle feature states, operating modes, and customer use cases.
• Establish and maintain end-to-end traceability linking functional engineering requirements, behavior-driven test scenarios (Gherkin), and Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) architectures to empirical power data.
• Gather, structure, and analyze empirical electrical load data from physical vehicle testing, laboratory benches, and engineering repositories.
• Support the design of MBSE models (spanning requirements, structural hierarchy, behavioral states, and simulations) for low-voltage power distribution networks.
