About the RoleThis is a full-time position within the corporate accounting department. The position owns three core areas — regulatory compliance and filings, the fixed asset lifecycle, and lease accounting — and supports the accounting close, cost recovery, and process documentation. Work is performed independently against published deadlines, with review and approval by the Financial Controller.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and file California sales and use tax returns and prepayments with the CDTFA; assemble supporting sales and exemption detail by location.
- Prepare and file Business Property Statements (Form 571-L) for all locations across multiple California counties; track and obtain the related property tax invoices from county tax collectors and landlords,



and submit them for payment.
- Manage sales and use tax audits and property tax assessment appeals and audits — respond to agency information document requests, assemble transaction and asset detail, prepare reconciliations and audit schedules, draft responses to proposed assessments, and coordinate with outside advisors. Work is reviewed and approved by the Financial Controller before submission.
- Prepare and file San Francisco Gross Receipts Tax returns and estimated payments through the SF Treasurer & Tax Collector portal.
- Own the complete fixed asset lifecycle: acquisition, capitalization, placement in service, transfer, depreciation, disposal, and retirement.
