Site Acquisition and Development Lead, Clean Energy and Data Centres, Mexico

Mexico's next wave of energy and digital infrastructure is already taking shape. Nearshoring is pulling manufacturing north, data centre operators are scaling around Querétaro and other hubs, and new generation capacity is needed to power it all. The people who can find and lock in the right sites will shape which projects get built.

Our client is a fast-growing, state-backed platform developing clean energy and data centre infrastructure across several continents. They are now establishing a presence in Mexico and are looking for a locally based lead to originate sites and build their development pipeline from the ground up.

MUST HAVE: A proven track record in site identification and acquisition, or project development, for renewable energy and/or data centre projects (both is a strong advantage), backed by a deep network in Mexico that gets deals done.

What you will do

• Source and evaluate potential sites, weighing land tenure, grid access, water availability and permitting risk




• Lead discussions and negotiations with ejidos, private landowners and municipal and state authorities
• Work with grid and energy regulators to progress interconnection and permits
• Move projects from early origination to a secured, investment-ready position
• Shape the commercial and techno-economic case behind each opportunity
• Build relationships with offtakers, industrial users, data centre tenants and local partners
• Act as the platform's face in Mexico within a small, international development team

What will help you succeed

• Solid techno-economic understanding, rather than a pure sales or general real estate background
• Deals you have closed through your own local relationships
• Practical knowledge of Mexican land tenure, permitting and energy regulation
• Fluent Spanish and English
• Confidence working autonomously while collaborating across borders
