At Ciena, this role contributes to the quality and manufacturability of routing and switching products through manufacturing test execution, automation, and technical problem resolution. The position partners with contract manufacturers, engineering teams, and vendors to improve manufacturing test processes and support successful product releases. Contributions help optimize production test coverage, consistency, and efficiency for deployed networking platforms.
How you will make an impact:
• Execute manufacturing test plans for routers and switches.
• Develop and debug automated manufacturing test scripts using Python.




• Troubleshoot electronic hardware issues identified during manufacturing testing of routing and switching products.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enable successful product releases.
• Improve testing methodologies and tools in partnership with vendors.
• Develop and maintain manufacturing test documentation, including test plans and test results.
• Drive optimization and standardization of manufacturing test sequences while coordinating issue resolution between Ciena and contract manufacturer test engineering teams.

The must haves:
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Experience: 3+ years of experience in manufacturing testing of routers and switches.
• Application of Python scripting for development and debugging of automated manufacturing tests; experience in embedded software diagnostics (C/C++) is an asset.
