Position Overview The Mexico GAAP Accounting Manager is responsible for leading all accounting, financial reporting, tax, and statutory compliance activities for the Wanzl Mexico manufacturing operation, ensuring adherence to Mexican Financial Reporting Standards (NIF/Mexican GAAP), local tax regulations, and corporate policies. This role partners closely with plant operations, supply chain, and corporate finance teams to support accurate financial reporting, cost accounting, inventory controls, budgeting, and continuous process improvement. The successful candidate is a bilingual Spanish/English finance leader with strong people-management skills, manufacturing accounting experience, and the ability to communicate effectively with local and international stakeholders.

Duties And Responsibilities

- Lead the timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual close for the Wanzl Mexico legal entity in accordance with Mexican Financial Reporting Standards (NIF/Mexican GAAP) and corporate reporting requirements.
- Prepare and review statutory financial statements, management reports, journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
- Ensure compliance with Mexican tax, electronic accounting, invoicing, payroll-related accounting, and other local statutory requirements in coordination with internal and external tax advisors.
- Upload Mexico financial results into the Wanzl general consolidation system and support reconciliation or reporting bridges to U.S. GAAP and Group reporting standards, as required.
- Lead manufacturing accounting activities, including standard costing, inventory valuation, production variances, overhead absorption, scrap, reserves, and cost-of-goods-sold analysis.
- Partner with plant leadership, operations, supply chain, procurement, and commercial teams to analyze results, improve cost visibility, and support sound business decisions.
- Maintain strong internal controls over inventory, fixed assets, intercompany transactions, cash, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and financial reporting processes.
- Oversee the fixed asset ledger, capitalization, depreciation, disposals, and physical verification of fixed assets.




- Manage and develop the local accounting team through clear priorities, coaching, cross-training, and performance accountability.
- Coordinate external statutory and tax audits, internal control reviews, and corporate audit requests, ensuring timely and complete documentation.
- Support the annual budget, rolling forecasts, cash-flow planning, and financial analysis for the Mexico manufacturing operation.
- Lead the intercompany reconciliation and confirmation process for transactions involving Wanzl Mexico and other Wanzl entities.
- Drive continuous improvement through process standardization, automation, stronger work instructions, and disciplined ERP and SAP usage.
- Maintain current standard operating procedures and ensure appropriate backup coverage for critical accounting responsibilities.
- Prepare ad-hoc financial analyses and management reports by collecting, validating, and summarizing relevant financial and operational data.
- Perform other duties and special projects assigned by Finance leadership.

Skills And Experience

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; Mexican CPA or equivalent professional qualification required.
- Master’s degree is preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive accounting experience, including supervisory or management responsibility.
- Demonstrated accounting experience in a manufacturing environment is required.
- Strong working knowledge of Mexican Financial Reporting Standards (NIF/Mexican GAAP), Mexican tax requirements, and statutory accounting practices.
- Bilingual fluency in Spanish and English, with strong written and verbal communication skills in both languages.
- Experience with ERP systems; SAP or SAP S/4HANA experience is strongly preferred.
- Working knowledge of U.S. GAAP and multinational consolidation or reporting requirements is preferred.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proven ability to manage competing deadlines, partner cross-functionally, and communicate effectively with local and international stakeholders.
