Position Title: Senior Automation QA Engineer – Flutter

Domain / Platform: Flutter (Mobile - iOS/Android & Web)

Role Summary

As a Senior Automation QA Engineer, you will architect, build, and scale automated testing solutions for Flutter applications across iOS, Android, and Web platforms for our client engagement. You will lead the technical transition from an underperforming legacy vendor team, refactoring fragile test code and constructing a robust continuous testing framework.

Your mission is to drive shift-left testing, maximize automated coverage, minimize regression cycle times, and prevent defects from reaching production.

Key Responsibilities

- Automation Framework Architecture: Design, maintain, and expand scalable test automation frameworks leveraging Dart and native Flutter testing toolkits (`flutter_test`, `integration_test`, or Patrol/Appium).
- Vendor Transition & Suite Refactoring: Audit legacy vendor automation assets, remove flaky or redundant scripts, and rebuild reliable test suites across Web and Mobile.
- CI/CD Integration: Integrate automated test execution into continuous integration pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions, Cloud Build) to run continuous smoke and regression suites on every pull request.
- Multi-Platform Automation: Develop maintainable automated end-to-end tests that run seamlessly across iOS, Android, and Web form factors.
- Shift-Left Defect Prevention: Work alongside developers early in the sprint cycle to create testable code, validate user stories, and ensure bugs are caught prior to staging and production builds.




- Test Infrastructure & Execution: Manage execution environments, device pools, emulators, and cloud device farms (e.g., Firebase Test Lab, Sauce Labs, BrowserStack).
- Metrics & Reporting: Monitor and report key metrics including test pass rates, suite execution time, code/test coverage, and flakiness rates to Google stakeholders.

Required Qualifications & Experience

- Experience: 5 years in software quality engineering, with at least 3 years dedicated to automated UI and API testing across mobile and web products.
- Flutter & Dart Expertise: Hands-on experience developing test automation suites in Dart using standard Flutter testing libraries (`flutter_test`, `integration_test`, Flutter Driver) or native cross-platform tools.
- CI/CD Pipelines: Practical experience configuring continuous testing within modern CI/CD systems and cloud device clouds (e.g., Firebase Test Lab).
- API & Backend Automation: Strong proficiency in REST/GraphQL API automation and mock service setup for end-to-end workflow validation.
- Software Engineering Practice: Proficiency in Git, object-oriented design patterns (Page Object Model, BDD), clean code standards, and code review processes.
- Vendor Transition Background: Demonstrated ability to overhaul under-delivering automation projects and rapidly scale effective test coverage.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with mobile application performance, memory leak, and frame-rate profiling in Flutter.
- Familiarity with cross-browser web testing engines (Playwright, Selenium) integrated with Flutter Web builds.
