Job Title: Sr. Network/Security Engineer
Role Description:
The Sr.
Security
Engineer will plan and implement enterprise networks and related hardware and software in addition to designing and documenting network architecture. This person will perform assessments on existing technologies to determine performance and capacity gaps.
The Security
Engineer also will establish security (firewalls, intrusion detection), connectivity and access parameters and provide recommendations to optimize network infrastructure. The adecuado person can test and tune security devices and systems, program routers and switches, and implement communications technologies, such as data or voice. Being bilingual in English and Spanish will also be important as this role will be supporting international projects.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Plan and implement enterprise networks and related hardware and software in addition to establishing security (firewalls, intrusion detection), connectivity and access parameters.
- Manage network services from planning phase through implementation
- Prepare technical procedures & documentation, standards & network schematics for firewall migration infrastructure (CheckPoint to Palo Alto), IPS, and Network Access Control.
- Plan and implement enterprise networks and related hardware and software in addition to establishing security (firewalls, intrusion detection), connectivity and access parameters.
- Offer support engineering in addition to supporting the evaluation of technical requirements for projects to determine the impact to the infrastructure including equipment redundancy and capacity requirements.
- Escalate incidents within company and/or with external technical resources when necessary.
- Prepare coverage reports for management review and recognize threats and intrusions by identifying abnormalities and reporting violations.
- Determine security violations and inefficiencies by conducting periodic audits.
- Evaluate applications to discover vulnerabilities and prioritize remediation efforts based on risk.
- Adhere to formal Change Management and security policies for all projects, ensuring mandatory approvals and documentation are managed through ServiceNow and Jira
Education & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or experience in relevant field/equivalent work experience
- 4+ years of relevant IT work experience within Security Engineering
- Excellent written and verbal communication (both English/Spanish) is required
- Previous experience configuring and managing Palo Alto and CheckPoint firewalls, Cisco ISE, security devices, IPS/IDS
- Solid knowledge of routing protocols, network hardware and software, security technologies and network infrastructure is required
- Knowledge and previous experience with vulnerability and hardening guide compliance
- VPN and firewall security management experience is required
- Security automation and AI-driven reviews and Governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) support
- Previous experience with hardening of network and security devices
Desire Requirements (Not Mandatory):
- Previous experience configuring and installing network proxies is a plus
- Security Certifications in CheckPoint and/or Palo Alto firewalls is desired
