- Adapt testing priorities based on the stage of the software development lifecycle.
- Identify emerging quality risks and communicate them effectively to QA and development stakeholders.
- Support post-release or post-project reviews and contribute recommendations for improving QA processes.
- Mentor junior test analysts and help strengthen their testing, troubleshooting, and defect-reporting skills.
- Share QA knowledge and best practices across the team.
- Stay current with testing technologies, methodologies, and relevant gaming platforms.
Must-Have Qualifications
- 3-5 years of Quality Assurance testing experience within the video game industry.
- Demonstrated experience with advanced testing techniques, including exploratory and regression testing.
- Strong knowledge of current PC and console gaming platforms, associated hardware, and online gaming environments.
- Experience using defect-tracking and/or test-management tools such as Jira, Bugzilla, TestRail, or comparable platforms.
- Understanding of video game development processes and how QA priorities change throughout the development lifecycle.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, including the ability to investigate complex systems and identify potential root causes.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple competing priorities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Previous experience mentoring or supporting junior QA team members.
Strongly Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with Agile and/or Scrum development environments.
- Experience working with game engines and version-control systems.
- Experience contributing to broader QA process improvements.
- Experience coordinating testing priorities around development milestones and releases.
Nice-to-Have Qualifications
- Experience with QA scripting or test automation.
- Exposure to automation frameworks or tools used within game-testing environments.
- Experience contributing to project retrospectives or post-mortems.
