Mainframe Production Control Analyst – Console Operations & Batch Monitoring

Location: Guadalajara / Mexico City / Monterrey, Mexico

Work model: Hybrid (2–3 days on-site per week)

Schedule: 24x7 operational support environment (rotating shifts / on-call as assigned)

About the role

We are seeking Production Control Analysts to monitor and manage enterprise mainframe production environments for a leading retail enterprise. The role covers real-time z/OS console monitoring, Control-M workload management, batch processing support, operational event monitoring, and incident resolution for business-critical applications running 24x7. You'll work closely with Application Support, System Programming, Database, Network, Security, Middleware, and Business Operations teams to keep batch workloads on time and production services uninterrupted.

This posting covers two seniority levels — Junior and Semi-Senior — with the final level and compensation determined by your experience.

What you'll do

Mainframe Console Operations

- Monitor z/OS system consoles and operational dashboards
- Identify, analyze, and respond to system messages, alerts, and abnormal conditions
- Escalate issues per established operational procedures
- Support IPL activities and system startup/shutdown
- Monitor availability of production systems and critical infrastructure
- Perform Level-1 operational support and initiate recovery procedures

Control-M Batch Monitoring

- Monitor daily, weekly, monthly, and year-end batch workloads using Control-M
- Ensure scheduled jobs execute successfully within service windows
- Monitor job dependencies, resource constraints, and scheduling conditions
- Analyze batch failures and perform restart/recovery per documented procedures
- Coordinate with application support during batch issues
- Validate completion of business-critical batch cycles
- Manage batch-related file transfers

Batch Scheduling Administration





- Create and maintain batch schedules within Control-M
- Manage calendars, scheduling tables, cyclic jobs, and dependencies
- Implement schedule changes per change management process
- Support batch schedule migration across dev, test, and prod
- Validate new schedules and job definitions during deployment

Incident & Problem Management

- Respond to production incidents affecting batch and system operations
- Perform initial triage and diagnostics
- Create and manage incident tickets per SLA
- Coordinate bridge calls during major incidents
- Support root cause and problem management activities

Recovery & Disaster Recovery Support

- Execute documented recovery procedures for failed jobs/outages
- Monitor restart and recovery processes
- Coordinate with technical teams to restore services
- Participate in DR testing and execution
- Support batch workload validation in recovery environments

Sueldo: $30,000.00 - $50,000.00 al mes
