Join our KB Rail Mexico team in our next steps.JOB DESCRIPTIONPosition SummaryThe Materials Planner key responsibility is to expedite or de-expedite direct material and adjust supplier schedules according to the demand plan and assure there's no excess or shortage of direct material per product demand requirements.
Ensure material is delivered on time and maintains reasonable inventory levels.
Monitor supplier delivery performance, backlog, and elevate potential supplier delivery issues that place the assembly line at risk of shutting down production.Essential FunctionsPlans and orders needed material quantities within needed delivery datesEnsures good receipts according to requested delivery datesEnforces purchasing agreement dates with suppliersEnsures optimization of truck load for inbound deliveriesManage PPAP expected dates with suppliers.
Coordinates efforts between purchasing, engineering, and quality.Collaborates In vendor related projectsChecks order confirmations regarding price and delivery date.




Works with purchasing to address discrepanciesCommunicates to suppliers any drawing and/or product specifications changes.
Ensures and monitors that supplier received and understood changes and requirements.Manage returns to suppliers, debit notes, parts replacements on time.Maintains the material master according to MRP fieldsEnsures inventory level per agreed upon targetsMonitor inventory levels and expedited material as need to avoid production line disruptionsControls inbound premium cost and ensure approval process is followedEscalate unsolved backlog issue to assure assembly line is not disruptedSupport PSA Activities and procedures with team membersPerform all those activities that by the nature of the position are required.Management & Supervisory ResponsibilitiesJob is NOT directly responsible for managing other employees.KnowledgeSAP/ERP KnowledgeBlueprint interpretationMS Office proficiencyExperience1-3 Years of experience in MRP and ERP systems.Procurement exposure of different commodities (stampings, aluminum die casting, plastic injection, grey iron, fasteners...)Effective negotiationSAP experience (preferred).
