Position Summary.

The SMT Programming Engineer creates, optimizes and maintains placement and printing programs for ASMPT SMT lines (SIPLACE placement machines and DEK printers). The role owns the path from customer CAD/Gerber data to a validated first article, supporting NPI builds and high-volume production with high first-pass yield and minimal changeover time.

Key Responsabilities:

Placement programming (ASMPT SIPLACE).

- Create and release placement programs in SIPLACE Pro / ASMPT WORKS from customer CAD, BOM and Gerber data.
- Build and maintain component shapes, vision data, nozzle and feeder assignments in the component library.
- Optimize line balancing across SIPLACE X-Series, SX and TX platforms to meet cycle-time targets.
- Define setup families and fixed/variable setups to reduce changeover time.

Stencil printing (ASMPT DEK).

- Create and tune DEK printer programs: fiducials, print speed, pressure, separation and under-stencil cleaning.
- Review stencil designs (aperture reduction, thickness, step stencils) with the stencil supplier.
- Integrate SPI feedback to control print volume and alignment.

NPI and first article.

- Lead program readiness for NPI builds and engineering changes (ECO/ECN).
- Perform first-article inspection with Quality and release the program to production.
- Provide DFM feedback on footprints, fiducials, panelization and component orientation.

Production support and continuous improvement.

- Troubleshoot placement defects: mispicks, component rejects, tombstoning, shifts and missing parts.




- Analyze machine pick-up rates and reject statistics; drive corrective actions.
- Apply Lean and 8D/root-cause methods to reduce scrap, rework and downtime.
- Control material waste (component attrition, mispicks, solder paste and feeder splice losses) and drive reduction actions.
- Increase line OEE by improving availability, performance and quality on ASMPT SMT lines.
- Increase line capacity (UPH) through program optimization, line balancing and bottleneck elimination.
- Reduce model changeover time using SMED, offline feeder setup and common setup families.
- Identify improvements and implement poka-yoke controls to prevent material loading errors (barcode feeder/reel verification, setup validation and machine interlocks in ASMPT Setup Center).

Data, documentation and systems.

- Maintain program revision control and the component database per PLM/ECO procedures.
- Configure and support ASMPT software tools (Setup Center, Material Manager, traceability, Factory Integration, Siplace PRO).
- Write work instructions and train technicians and operators on programs and setups.

KPIS Program readiness, First-pass yield, Pick-up rate, Changeover time, Cycle time, OEE, Program errors.

Desirable:





- ASMPT certified training (SIPLACE Pro / WORKS programming or DEK operation/maintenance).
- Experience with ASMPT Factory Integration / MES connectivity and traceability.
- Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma Green Belt; SMED experience for changeover reduction.
- Experience with other platforms (Fuji, Panasonic, Yamaha, JUKI) for program migration.

Required Qualifications.

- Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Mechatronics, Industrial, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
- 3+ years of SMT programming experience in electronics manufacturing (EMS, automotive, medical or industrial).
- 2+ years of hands-on programming on ASMPT SIPLACE placement equipment.
- Working knowledge of DEK stencil printers and the SMT process: printing, placement, reflow and AOI/SPI.
- Knowledge of IPC-A-610 and J-STD-001; familiarity with IPC-7351 land patterns.
- Intermediate to advanced English (written and spoken) for technical documentation and communication with customers, staff and ASMPT support.

Technical Skills. ASMPT placement software, ASMPT equipment, ASMPT printing, CAD / data preparation, SMT process, Inspection, Analysis.

Sueldo: $45,000.00 - $55,000.00 al mes
