Stellar Digital Marketing is looking for a Senior WordPress Developer to lead a full nonprofit website rebuild for one of our clients — a custom-designed site of approximately 28 pages, built in Elementor Pro, including full technical and on-page SEO implementation and a dedicated ADA/WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility audit and remediation.
This is a flat-rate, fixed-scope project (not hourly), targeting a 1–3 month timeline. This is a one-time project to start, with a genuine path to ongoing work for the right fit — if you're the right fit, there's an opportunity for this to grow into an ongoing working relationship maintaining and expanding the site.
Scope note: this role covers site design/build and all technical and on-page SEO implementation (Rank Math configuration, schema, sitemaps, on-page elements). Page copy and content strategy are handled separately by our SEO Copywriter — you won't be writing the page content itself, but you will be responsible for implementing it correctly for SEO and accessibility.
Who We're Looking For
• We're hiring for this role specifically among candidates based in Latin America .
• Must be able to communicate fluently in English, both written and spoken — you'll work directly with our U.S.-based team and client, so this is a hard requirement, not a nice-to-have.
• A players only. We'd rather leave this role open longer than fill it with someone who can install a theme but hasn't actually led a project at this scale.
What We Need
Before a single page gets touched, you'll design the sitemap and information architecture for multiple distinct visitor journeys — donors, volunteers, people seeking shelter or services, and general visitors each need a different path through the site.
Technical SEO migration done right: 301/redirect mapping, URL preservation, Search Console monitoring, canonicals, schema, XML sitemap, robots.txt, and pre/post-launch validation. This is one of the most important requirements of this project. We need a developer who understands how site architecture, page hierarchy, URLs, crawlability, and technical implementation affect SEO,
not someone focused only on visual development.
Hands-on experience with Rank Math and WordPress on-page SEO implementation is required. The developer should know how to properly configure and use Rank Math across the site, including SEO titles, meta descriptions, focus keywords, canonicals, schema settings, indexing controls, XML sitemap settings, and other page-level SEO requirements. They should also understand how to properly add and optimize featured images, image file names where appropriate, alt text, heading structure, internal links, URL slugs, and other on-page elements that support SEO, accessibility, and usability.
Strong WordPress and Elementor Pro expertise , including the ability to design and build a fully custom website using Elementor Pro. The site should be visually strong, modern, highly responsive, fast, intuitive to navigate, and thoughtfully designed around the organization's brand, audiences, content, and conversion goals.
We are looking for someone with strong creative and UX judgment who can develop original page layouts and visual systems rather than relying primarily on pre-built themes or template kits.
The site should also be technically structured for both traditional search and emerging AI-driven search, including clean semantic structure, crawlable content, appropriate schema, properly configured robots.txt and XML sitemaps, and no unnecessary technical barriers that prevent search engines or approved AI crawlers from accessing public content.
Required: hands-on WCAG 2.1 AA / ADA compliance experience. This is not a "nice to have" for this role. You should be comfortable running a real accessibility audit (automated tools plus manual keyboard-navigation and screen-reader testing),
remediating code-level issues you find, and building accessibility into your day-to-day development practice going forward — not just claiming familiarity with the standard.
Nonprofit or mission-driven site experience is strongly preferred, particularly shelters, faith-based organizations, addiction recovery organizations, or donation-focused websites.
Applicants Should Be Ready To
• Share 2–3 websites you personally built — not agency portfolio pieces you only contributed a small part of, and not reference or inspiration sites you did not build. Be ready to speak in detail about your specific role on each one.
- Provide proof of at least one 25+ page site rebuild you personally completed (not just designed).
- Describe your specific WCAG 2.1 AA / ADA experience — the tools you use, how you test, and an example remediation you've done.
- Explain your process for mapping a sitemap/IA for multiple distinct audiences.
- Share your total flat quote for the full project scope described above — we are hiring at a flat rate, not hourly.
- Share your estimated timeline for the full scope.
- Include a link to a short (3-5 minute) video introducing yourself, walking through your relevant experience, and explaining why you are the right fit for this role — a Loom or unlisted YouTube link works well.
Compensation
Target flat project rate of $7,500–$8,500 USD for the full scope described above, based on experience and proposal. Total flat quote required with your application.
Schedule & Location
One-time, fixed-scope project to start (target 1–3 months), with a genuine path to ongoing work for the right fit. Fully remote. Candidates must be based in Latin America.
Equal Employment Opportunity
Stellar Digital Marketing provides equal employment opportunities to qualified applicants without regard to race, color, religion, sex, pregnancy, national origin, age, disability, genetic information, veteran status, or any other status protected by applicable law. Reasonable accommodations are available during the hiring process.
