As a Development Tools Software Engineer, you will design, develop, and optimize software tools that support silicon debug, validation, and production processes. Your contributions will directly enable Intel's internal and external engineering teams to build cutting-edge silicon and software products. In this role, you will develop innovative software solutions that enhance tool functionality, ensure seamless hardware-software integration, and help bring Intel silicon products to market efficiently and effectively.

Responsibilities

- Develop and enhance software tools for silicon debug, validation, and manufacturing test processes.
- Collaborate with validation engineering teams and external customers to ensure tools effectively leverage the latest silicon debug features.
- Debug and fix software issues, developer-owned validation, and create functional documentation.
- Provide technical support to customers, assisting with tool usage and identifying root causes for silicon power‑on issues.
- Work on hardware-software integration and debug for tools incorporating JTAG, I3C, SMBus, or silicon TAP topology.
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to less experienced engineers, fostering growth and innovation within the team.
- Contribute to agile development processes, including scrum and kanban, to ensure efficient project execution.

Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- 4+ years of experience:



with object‑oriented software development and debugging.
- in hardware-software integration and debug.
- in programming languages such as Python, C, and C++.
- with version control tools like Git/GitHub.
- Advanced English skills.
- Must have unrestricted, permanent right to work in Mexico (this role is not eligible for visa or immigration sponsorship).

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience working with stakeholders in requirement elicitation processes.
- Familiarity with Intel validation tools and processes.
- Knowledge of MBIST, Scan dump, JTAG, I3C, or silicon TAP topology.
- Experience with simulation frameworks.
- Exposure to working with Silicon Validation teams.
