The Aptiv Connection Systems Team is looking for a Controls Engineer. This position is responsible for new projects development for North American operations within the Manufacturing Engineering Team.
**Your Role (i.e. Key Job Responsibilities)**:
- Responsible for all manufacturing engineering activities related with assigned manufacturing areas/plants.
- Development and design of new manufacturing systems including controls involved for correct PFMEA support.
- Participation in design review meetings for new products.
- Support continuous improvement of quality, OE, scrap, design, etc on current assembly processes installed into NA plants.
- Accountable for the successful support on the launch of new PNs / controls into the manufacturing NA plants.
- Continuous seeking for addition of new technology.
- Continuous development of technical capacities on suppliers and team members.
- Ensure safety and operational manufacturing systems design.
**Your Required Background (i.e. Must Haves)**:
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Mechanic, Industrial, Industrial or Systems Engineering
- 3+ years’ experience in automotive industry
- **
85% English (written and verbal)**
- Basic knowledge in Microsoft Office, Autocad, electrical standards NFPA/IEC
- **
Availability to travel internationally (1-2 times a year)**
**Your Preferred Background (i.e. Nice to Haves)**:
- Proven experience in electric/electronics principles, drawings, commissioning and integration
- **
Proven experience in PLC (Allen Bradley/Siemens) / ladder / structured text programming**:
- **
Proven experience in vision systems (Cognex/ Keyence) handling/ programming**
- Familiar in component manufacturing processes (Assembly, Plastic Injection Molding, etc.)
- Ability to work effectively with people at all levels in an organization




- Ability to communicate complex ideas effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
- Strong results-orientation and execution characteristics
- Ability to effectively organize, prioritize and accomplish multiple conflicting tasks, make intelligent, timely decisions and solve problems independently
- Experience in assembly development process (concept design, estimate, quote, insource, startup)
- Prior experience in manufacturing, engineering or maintenance areas.
