Buyer (Direct material)
Direct Material Buyers will be responsible for obtaining direct material cost reduction through identification of VAVE opportunities, competitive quotes, negotiation with suppliers and other cost reduction tools.
Key activities and responsibilities:
- Identification of cost reduction opportunities through the study of historical and projected material consumption. - Interaction with the different functional areas (Engineering, Materials, Manufacturing) to understand business needs and ensure that this is reflected in negotiated contracts - Development of win/win relationships with suppliers to enable ECI to achieve the objectives identified in the business plan. - Analysis of direct material spend list - Classification of spend by category - Development of cost reduction plans and tactics aligned with category strategy - Execution of quotations and negotiations according to strategy - Implementation of long-term contracts that generate year-over-year price reductions - Assisting operational buyers in resolving supplier issues
Qualifications:
- A minimum of a bachelor’s degree is required. - Fluent English
