About the role of the Assistant Director of Rooms

As a key member of the Hotel Leadership Team, the Assistant Director of Rooms contributes to strategic and operational decision-making to ensure the overall success of the resort. This role is responsible for delivering exceptional guest experiences, maintaining operational excellence, and fostering employee engagement and satisfaction. The Assistant Director of Rooms ensures that service standards are consistently achieved, guest and employee concerns are addressed promptly and effectively, and departmental objectives align with the resort's vision and goals. The role provides leadership, direction, and oversight for the Front Office, Guest Experience, Concierge, Housekeeping,



and Laundry departments, ensuring seamless operations, exceptional service delivery, and continuous improvement across all areas.

What you will do:

- Provide strategic leadership and operational oversight for the Front Office, Guest Experience, Housekeeping, and Laundry departments, ensuring the seamless daily flow of arrivals, departures, guest services, itineraries, housekeeping, and laundry operations.
- Lead, coach, and develop department managers and team members to foster a culture of engagement, accountability, high performance, and service excellence.
- Champion exceptional guest satisfaction by creating personalized guest experiences, proactively resolving service issues, and handling guest concerns with the highest level of professionalism and hospitality.
- Oversee all Front Office operations, ensuring efficient arrival, departure, and communication processes.
- Maintain the highest standards of cleanliness, presentation, and quality throughout guestrooms, public areas, residential accommodations, and laundry operations, while partnering with Engineering to support the Perfect Room Program and ongoing preventative maintenance initiatives.
- Monitor departmental budgets, labor costs, productivity, supplies, and operating expenses to achieve financial objectives, maximize efficiency,



and support profitability.
- Drive quality assurance and continuous improvement through regular inspections, audits, KPI monitoring, and adherence to brand standards, ensuring exceptional guest experiences and operational excellence.

What you bring:

- Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum 5-7 years of progressive leadership experience in Rooms Division operations within a luxury hotel or resort environment.
- Proven experience managing Front Office, Housekeeping, Guest Experience, and/or Laundry operations.
- Fluency in both English and Spanish, written and verbal (required).
- Experience using Opera and BirchStreet systems (preferred).
- Proficiency in any additional language(s) is considered a plus.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, financial performance, and operational metrics.
- Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and decision-making skills.
- Proficiency in property management systems and hospitality technology platforms.
- Ability to work adaptable schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
