Satellite Teams is seeking an experienced Controller to oversee the organization’s accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, compliance, and financial operations. This senior-level role will partner closely with executive leadership to analyze financial performance, identify risks and opportunities, and provide insights that support business growth and decision-making.

The Controller will also lead and mentor the finance team while improving financial processes, controls, and overall operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Management & Reporting

- Oversee daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger.
- Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in accordance with GAAP and company policies.
- Analyze financial performance, revenue, costs, profitability, and cash flow and provide recommendations.

Budgeting & Forecasting

- Lead the annual budgeting process and collaborate with executive leadership on business planning.
- Develop and maintain cash flow and financial forecasts.
- Analyze budget-to-presente results and financial variances.
- Provide recommendations to improve financial performance and profitability.

Compliance & Internal Controls

- Develop and maintain effective internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with applicable financial, tax, and regulatory requirements.
- Identify and mitigate financial risks.
- Coordinate external audits and work with auditors and accounting/tax professionals.
- Oversee billing, collections, and cash management.

Leadership & Strategic Support

- Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team.




- Communicate financial results and insights to executive leadership and other stakeholders.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
- Support long-term business planning and financial strategy.
- Streamline month-end and year-end close processes.
- Evaluate financial impact and ROI of technology and operational investments.

Vendor Management

- Manage key vendor relationships and monitor performance and contractual obligations.
- Partner with internal teams to ensure vendor services align with financial and operational objectives.
- Address and resolve vendor performance or compliance issues.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
- 5 years of progressive accounting/finance experience, including at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and compliance.
- Experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, NetSuite, Sage Intacct, or similar platforms.
- Advanced Excel skills.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
- Proven ability to lead and develop a finance team.
- High level of accuracy, integrity, and attention to detail.
- Ability to balance detailed financial analysis with a strategic, business-focused perspective.
